I'm kinda knew to commander, 2HG and 1v1 but mostly 2HG , but after playing a couple of games with borrowed decks yesterday I felt like making a deck of my own. While searching for grixis generals Marchesa, the Black Rose got my attention and I was wondering if a deck with marchesa would be any good against Purphoros, Thraximundar, Kaalia and Nahiri.

I'm willing to spend quite a lot of money, so budget isn't a problem.

P.D. I'm knew to the forums, I hope didn't post this in a wrong subforum.

This is a tricky question, because what makes a deck "good" in EDH varies quite a bit.

Can you make a Marchesa deck that wins a lot? Yes.
Can you make a Marchesa deck that is fun for you to play with? Probably.
Can you make a Marchesa deck that is fun to play with and fun for your opponents to play against? Probably.

What kinds of cards are the other players working with?

its actually very easy to make marchesa good. if there ever was a 'suicide' strategy commander, she'd be up there with rakdos the defiler.

anything that interacts with +1/+1 counters is awesome, as is anything that allows you to use your life-total as a resource. Treasonous Ogre comes to mind, as does hatred.

I got my ass beat out of nowhere by a Marchesa deck the other day - I was playing one of my decks that had a Diamond Valley in it - and was making rather copious use of said Land...

Turns out, that was a bad idea when the Dethrone Train is heading your way lead by the Dethrone Dragon.

I have a Marchesa deck, all star cards in my build are:

Unspeakable Symbol
Phyrexian Tower
any steal-for-a-turn card, like Threaten

Remember, Marchesa's final ability does not say that a creature that died with a +1/+1 counter comes back under its owners control, so if you steal a creature, give it a counter by triggering dethrone and then sac it, it returns to the battlefield under your control permanently :)

If you want to go that way, make sure to include Glaring Spotlight and Arcane Lighthouse to make sure any creature is up for grabs.
