My LGS, Comic Connection, has a thriving EDH scene. most of the regular players carry an EDH deck or two with them at all times, and the store runs league style play on Wednesdays as well as occaisional Saturday EDH.

895 King St West (in Westdale)
905-522-2357

I'd avoid infinite combo, using Sharrum or Zur as generals at all, and focused mass land distruction/prison decks. Apart from that, you're good to go. My deck (in my sig) is at the high end of the power spectrum that people enjoy playing against there.

Of note, the store currently has a fair number of revised dual lands in stock, and some other older, hard to find goodies. For more obscure cards, Top Games (on the mountain, Fennel St) has generally higher prices but much more stock. No EDH league there though - it's a very spiky store that caters to the local PTQ / GP crowd and is run by a former semi-pro player (Mexican national champion and multiple PT competitor, no top 8's AFAIK). Hamilton has a great Magic scene IMHO, but Comic Connection could use a few more regular EDH players with a good level of rules knowledge and play skill. Come on out!

It has been way too long since I flung cardboard with Killane.

I do encourage players in the Hamilton area to come out, Saturdays in the afternoon seems to be the biggest draw of EDH. We play with a points system similar to Armada Games but the rewards/penalities can change week to week with no knowledge before hand.

As Killane mentioned uber douchey/ hyper competitive decks are frowned upon as we have players of varying abilities and experience, and we are all there for a good time.

It's within walking distance from MacMaster. Good EDH scene. They were having website issues this week, so I'm sure the one you found on Google is correct.

Yes ,apparently they are getting a new site fairly soon. It's on King, near the Metro, right across from Anytime. Guessing 10 min by bike from Mac.

Are they still holding edh rounds at this shop? It's possible I'm years late on this but their recent calendar doesn't show anything.
