Hey everybody,

I'm wondering if there are any active Commander playgroups in Tokyo, preferably Yamanote Line area. The last person to post anything about a group in Tokyo hasn't logged in in almost a year. English or Japanese language is fine.

東京でコマンダーをやっているグループはいませんか?山手線周辺がいいのですが、それ以外でも連絡していただければと思います。よろしくお願いします。

Haven't lived in Japan for 15 months now, but when I was there I always wanted to head to Tokyo and join in on the Commander games that took place at Shakey's Pizza in Takadenobaba, near the station, on a Wednesday evening. I just lived too far away for me to ever do that (in Gunma, if you were interested).

From what I recall, you might want to check out some groups on Facebook, as that seems to be where a bunch of people tended to advertise things. The Wargamers in Japan gaming group always used to advertise their Magic events there so that might be a good place to look for a bit more information.

Thanks for the info, but it looks like Shakey's in Takadanobaba closed. I'm not on Facebook but I'll see if I can find out where they play now.

There's a store called TokyoMTG, run by a foreigner called Brent Boehner. The SHakey's crowd moved there a couple of years ago...but you should probably get on FB just to make it easier for you to arrange games there :)
