So with Ixalan they are printing out a card called growing rites of Itlimoc (cost is 1g and 2 colorless). The pre transformation card isn't really important but when you have 4 or more creatures, at your end step it transforms into the land Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun. It taps for 1 green or taps for 1 green per creature.

Who else is excited for double Gaea's cradle? Also will it lead into a possible ban for the older version that doesn't take mana and creatures to transform?

If anything, the RC should revisit the more controversial bans of ages past, and see if any merit parole. I can't think of a single card worth banning at this juncture.

Yeah really don't want to live in a world with Balance on the loose.

Doubling Season might make it to the ban radar but I don't think it will be banned. Doubling Season could cause major problems with some of the new planeswalkers coming out and with the planeswalker rule change.

Warrant a ban? Maybe, leaning yes, but that's up for the RC to decide. I'd hate to see it go, because I personally use it for more than just planeswalkers, but it might break planeswalkers as we know it.

But that's just my opinion.

Why is everyone harping so much on the PW rule change? Superfriends is probably going to be only deck that really feels anything from it. It's not like most decks run all 7 Jaces or whatever. The most of a single planeswalker I've ever seen (outside of Superfriends) is 4 Garruks, and considering Primal Hunter usually dies on cast it's really more of 3.

I say, you say, we say, they say Sisay, too. But yeah, that's all.

Definitely - I meant, can't think of any currently banned cards worth banning.

I... I think you mean "can't think of any currently unbanned cards worth banning"... Right...?

(If not I've completely misinterpreted this exchange and am very confused as to what you mean)

Or do you.....? It's fair and balanced, just like Fox News.

There is a reason that they made a new cradle and not a new tolarian academy. Gaea's cradle is fine. It was annoying that fair token decks and high creature count decks couldn't get one cheaply, but this alternative means the budget decks get a cradle 2.0 and the tuned decks get the OG as well.

I think new cradle is a great addition to the format, in fact all of the new flip into lands cards look like fun.

TBF, Tolarian Academy would probably be fine too if it had some sort of restriction as to when you could start using it. IIRC, the issue was that it was creating too much mana too quickly, not just that it created too much mana.
