The format choice is up to the organizer. [b]Any style that the players will enjoy is welcome—even “anything goesâ€

I'll be trying to hook that up for my playgroup if I can in Cambridge, MA. I'm glad Wizards is doing this - it is a fantastic way to help grow the size of casual playgroups or help people find local groups to play with. I'm very excited by the idea.

I'm wondering how the prize support works. Not having player rewards points for this shows Wizards doesn't want this to just turn into a way to get tons of promos.

Guess we'll see.

There were a few sheets related to the WPN included in my prerelease packages. The info didn't look very comprehensive, but there was absolutely no mention of any kind of prize support. I think that the only incentive to actually 'sanctioning' your casual events is to be listed on the event locator.

Anyone else actually run one of these? I did a few weeks back, it's been received and processed, but the only way I can find mention is by looking at past events I've run or played in...

Kind of hoping it counts for player rewards as I'm having to run far more tournaments than I get to play in right now.

The Magic Gateway-program has come to an end, but they replaced it with a new program called the "Wizards Play Network". In the events that are played under the WPN, these foils will be rewarded to the players:
