what about pointy finger of doom?
I understand it is a physical action card, but it can also screw you over too, which I think balances it out.

Well, the thread intent was for you to come along and say "I want to play with Pointy Finger of Doom". And for us to say "Oh no, not the Pointy Finger..."

Gifts Given seems awesome.

Some of the Gotcha cards might be playable.

I play Gifts Given in my Vorosh deck, if anyone complains I just shout at them a lot. Gotcha cards+mutiplayer=bad. The discard a card gotcha caused pretty much the whole table to loose their hands.

Yeah everyone sits there and flicks the damn cards back and forth uncontrollably.
The picture on that card is so painful looking haha ...

My vote goes to My First Tome, but I never choose Simon (Nomad) to guess the card, cos he knows them all...

I like Uktabi Kong, I built an ape/Unhinged deck using him, including Graphic Violence, as many apes are by Una Fricker.

I also like Physic Network, if you wear glasses, it is very easy to stick the card on them.

Gotcha cards seem neat, but are actually horrible... they do nothing but decrease player interaction.

I love symbol status myself, and have been slowly building an EDH deck with one non-land card with each set symbol. Symbol status was the UNH card... and I went with "My first tome" for UNG.

Gifts Given seems like good fun... and Fruitcake elemental is a classic EDH "exception."

Basically, anything which is funny, or quirky, or hard to rule on, but not irritating is fine with me. Anything which is primarily irritating I vote against, and anything which affects another player (Handcuffs, Farewell to Arms) is probably going to cause problems.

G

PS: At the request of a few people, I've clarified the rules page to explicitly allow Shaharazad in EDH, even though it's not legal in Vintage. The reasons it's banned for sanctioned play aren't really applicable to EDH anyway, and it's more relevant (more life loss), more fun, and easier to cope with in EDH.

Sometimes I try to put a cheatyface in play in random multiplayer games :D

I don't overdo it, otherwise the fun is gone.
Really cool if new players are at the table, and I attack with it. I like surprised faces.

The gotcha cards are too good.
Laughing hyena in multiplayer?
number crunch? "I attack you" "how much damage?" ...
Spell counter? "is someone going to counter this?" If you ask for it....

I have a chaos deck for multiplay (deck with global effects, each turn roll a D6 and when a 6 is rolled, next effect comes) , and it has psychic network in it!
Then a group entered the shop (big shop, also internet cafe and more), they see us playing magic with psychic network in the middle of the table:
"what game are you guys playing?"
He thought magic was a more serious game.

I love my chaos stack (More info click here - down right now), but I think we're leaving it alone for now as (although it doesn't go quite as slowly as the old d200 Chaos rules), it doesn't exactly speed the game up, and EDH ain't a fast game to begin with.

But Psychic Network is great for exactly the reasons you state. People know just what kind of players they'll be getting into a game with once they've seen this happening. And that's useful for everyone, those that like what they see AND for those that don't.

URL does not work now.

yeah, the d200 list was way too slow. always searching the list for the stupid effect...

chaos deck for EDH is not fun indeed.
chaos deck slows down the game, EDH does the same, together it's even worse, and then you lose all the fun.

I'm curious to see your chaos deck.

If only I had $40... :(

I would definitely love to play with Enter the Dungeon.

I'd also really like to use my R&D's Secret Lair + Ashnod's Coupon combo(maybe a Sisay deck to tutor up the land).

Site is back up, so I've put the URL in now that I've found it.

Enter the Dungeon (although more for my 60 card recursive subgame deck)

Mise: Ancestral Recall if you work for it
Urza's Hot Tub: fun to try to
I love Mox Lotus, but more for the crazy rulings it calls for (uncountably infinite creatures!)
Gleemax: Better in Type 4
Mirror Mirror
Once More With Feeling: Always a favorite of mine
Psychic Network: Lots of fun. People outside of the game look at you funny
Richard Garfield, PhD
Strategy, Schmategy or Goblin Tutor: Whee!
Time Machine: What a fantastic card! Mine currently holds Fatespinner
Who/What/etc.: I love it with Isocron Scepter
Mana Screw: A friend of mine made a combo deck with these and Thumbs
Cheatyface is fun. So is Urza's Contact Lenses.

_________: I tried to name our Two Headed Giant team this. I asked the judge "Can I name our team after any card in magic?" "Yes," he replied. "Ok, I've done so", I said, pointing to our blank name. "I'm going to have to change my previous ruling," he said. :(

Too Broken:
Necro-Impotence: It's totally broken. Much, much stronger than Necropotence.
Frankie Peanuts: if you ask the right yes-no question, you can force your opponent to concede during your upkeep.
Johnny Combo Player

Burning Cinder Fury of Crimson Chaos Fire: Have you guys ever played this in a multiplayer game? It messes up game state so bad that nobody can do anything constructive (since if one player starts doing something to get ahead, her opponents just past all permanents back and forth)

One of the guys put super secret tech in his deck when he finished foiling it. No one complains, if if someone does, he just RFGs it and draws a card.
