Very cool! Glad to hear the shop owner get behind a new player.

I have seen this all the time with new players regadless of their gender.

Players having zero patience when going against new ones, expecting everyone to hurry up, resolving and passing without waiting for responses, and a long etc.

Maybe in your friends case it was also added the sexism, but I bet that if she was a man, she would have expereiced some of those issues (but not all ofcourse)

"Competitive games are toxic" , and even when FNM are not meant to be competivie, the thing is that they are, Modern, standard and drafts are competitive formats

I’m a dude, so sexism doesn’t happen to me st the card store. That doesn’t stop people from being generally toxic. I wouldn’t say fight fire with fire, but my general rule is to point out how someone is being toxic. It places the embarrassment at their feet and lets them deal with it. You are there to have fun and not there to be pushed around by someone who is obviously not having fun.

I’m happy that the general community is increasing and more females are finding their way in. I don’t like it when people try to bully in the nerd community. We are made up of everyone stop trying to act like your better. At least that’s how I feel about it.

Neither of my LGS's have cis women play magic, so this is something I've never seen. The only cis women who ever come in are one of the player's girlfriends. Oddly enough, I have yet to see any transphobia considering there are about 5 trans women that frequent both shops.
