A 2 cc / 2 equip cost equipment that gives you two 0/2 defending tokens and boosts +2/+1. That's actually not a bad deal as non-busted 2 cost equipment go. Gums up the ground, small boost.

You misread slightly: it gives an opponent two 0/2 defending tokens, not yourself. In 1v1 that means you're going to have to put in some extra effort to transform it. In multiplayer EDH that means you help out someone else politically, then go after whoever you like.

That said I love this specifically for the political aspect. :)

I wouldn't say it's less good. Helps trigger Defense of the Heart and Oath of Druids

I wonder if they will do a creature-type update for some or all of the old cards. Like: Pygmy Allosaurus, Pygmy Pyrosaur, Allosaurus Rider, Dromosaur, Imperiosaur, etc.

It would appear that 14 cards were changed to Dinosaur (X) type (or changed back in the case of Pygmy Allosaurus and Old Fogey):

Alpha Tyrranax
Deathmist Raptor
Dromosaur
Frenetic Raptor
Fungusaur
Imperiosaur
Magmasaur
Old Fogey
Pangosaur
Putrid Raptor
Pygmy Allosaurus
Ridgetop Raptor
Shivan Raptor
Tyrranax

For those keeping tribal counts, that means with the return of the creature type we are already at:

W - 11
U - 0
B - 1
R - 14
G - 19
RG - 2 / 35
RW - 2 / 27
GW - 1 / 31
RGW - 1 / 49 creatures for our only Dinosaur legend so far.

There are also the following counts for cards that have the Dinosaur type in the textbox:
W - 4
B - 1
R - 3
G - 3
RW - 2

Which totals 61 on-color, on-theme dino cards for Gishath to choose from...

If I build this in paper, it totally has to have Old Fogey, even if I have to bribe people to let me use the silver card. Bands with Dinosaurs is too good to pass up!
