What does that even mean? They are printing new multi-player oriented cards with multi-player oriented mechanics. What is more dedicated to multi-player than that?

You're saying you want pre-cons? They have 5 commander pre-cons every year.

You do understand that Magic is not a cooperative game, right? You win by making everyone else lose. That's the nature of the beast. Voting is a way to let people work together against a common enemy. That's pretty much as friendly as "working together" can get in game of Magic.

It means leave it at that and drop the draft mechanics.

As well, have you never formed a temporary truce with another player?

The idea that you should be able to build your deck however you want and still be competitive is false, and a bad idea to have. Taken to the extreme, that's like making a deck with no removal in it, and then complaining that you can't win because stuff your opponents play gets in your way.

Making cards to suit 'temporary truces' would be garbage in any deck that isn't 2HG though. The Draft being in with the rest of the multiplayer set means even more people are happy. Stop being selfish toward us cubers! It's been forever and now finally, cubers are getting love!

1) Since the draft cards are in a special rarity slot, they effectively just replace a common in the pack. You're not losing your rares, so why do you even care? Just ignore the draft cards like you ignore 90+% of the commons in any given set, anyway.

2) Temporary truces are pretty much impossible to have game mechanics revolve around. They are meta-game by nature, and trying to make cards that take meta-game states into account are going to be clunky at best, and unusable at worst.

But voting is a mechanic that's good for temporary truces. So is Dethrone.

You could do a mechanic that encourages truces to hold...

Cease Fire

Enchantment

Choose target player. Creatures that player controls get +1/+1.

If that player attacks you, exile Cease Fire.

Better if it's both players' creatures get +1/+1 and it goes away if either player attacks the other. Otherwise it's all one-sided against you (your enemy gets the only benefits, and is the only one who controls when it goes away).

I'd agree with that. Thinking aloud misses those things occasionally.

Honestly, good or bad, draft is the reason for like 90% of cards. The majority of cards don't see any (significant) play outside draft. If you aren't making it draft compatible, you might as well just print one card per pack.

That's understood. The discussion is about the cards in Conspiracy that have special drafting-specific abilities, like Cogwork Librarian.
