i was playtesting my reanimator deck, and i stumbled on a three card combo... Nantuko husk(or any sac outlet)+woodfall primus+mighty emergence.

i can blow up all opposing non-creature permanents, but the dudes... i guess damnation works :D

Correct. With stuff like theese,it would be good to search for more 5+ power persist guys. And that artifact that gives persist to any number of guys. I use Woodfall with Miren or Highmarket and Debtors knell or other renimation stuff in Teneb. But your idea gets you infi-Vindicate! Cool.

You actually need 6+ power guys, since they come into play with a -1/-1 counter, which means only Woodfall Primus and Thunderblust. Cauldron of Souls doesn't let you go infinite.

Sweet combo, but is it worth running Mighty Emergence?

in any normal deck no, i wouldn't run this combo. but highlander, its worth the slot.
i'm testing where ancients tread for autokill, so far it works.
people look over where ancients tread and mighty emeregence when they hit the table. when they realize what happens next, its already too late. =]

Gaea's anthem and other pump effects would lower the persist bar to 5 power.

This combo would run well in a kresh deck.

Well, it COULD.

If you got creative. Just have to think of some 6+/x artifact creatures with fun comes into... play...

Sundering Titan anyone?

lmao! thats amazing.

i'm going build this in actual casual play.
scorpion, cauldron, titan, emergence combo, etc.
if you wanted it for standard you could build a jund ramp deck that uses it...

use Spawning Pit so you don't have to use black

i mean there's tons of sac outlets, the husk was an example. theres altar of phyrexia, altar of dementia, ashnod's altar, you can target your own darksteel whatever and make infinite mana with the altar of phyrexia or ashnod's, infini-burn an opponent, blow up everything etc. its really fun in big games, when you tutor for a mighty emergence and where ancients tread people give you weird looks and auto-label you as noob. then you infini-vindicate/lava axe their faces off. under the radar combo's are fun, as long as they stay under the radar.
and black isn't necessary, but it gives you ton of reanimation, tutors, and it makes the deck flow. if you don't want to use black, then don't, i will =] its fun seeing the husk get everything my opponents got just to see it stitched together and still lose. :D

about the caldron of souls interaction... does the creature still have the persist ability when it comes back from the graveyard. since the cauldron granted the ability to the creature doesn't the creature "forget" that it had the ability after it returns regardless of whether or not it has a -1/-1 counter on it?

It does "forget." Whenever an object changes zones, such as play to graveyard (and then back to play again), it is treated as an entirely new object and doesn't remember anything about its previous existence (other than that it left from there, so leaves-play and GY-from-play triggers work).

thats why latrodectus55 suggested dross scorpion. it untaps an artifact when an artifact creatures comes into play, giving more dudes persist, infinitely. a great example would be sundering titan, or if you wanted to dedicate the deck to the combo, you could run mycosynth lattice and any dude with a 6+ power 187 effect triggers infinitely.
P.S. i'm really surprised how much feedback this combo is getting. i'm happy =]

Well it's kind of a jank combo that has some potential in an EDH deck which makes it fun to talk about. Each general piece is useful on it's own as well, even if it's not the most powerful effect in the world.

What general are you running this combo in? I still think that kresh is the best fit. A Jund strategy with fallen angel, scarland thrinax and nantuko husk would work well. Reanimator with juniper order ranger is the obvious combo but playing those colors and that strategy would probably produce a lot of hate from your play group.

I might build this deck depending on how well my sedris build turns out. I hate budget restraints....

the general i'm running now is kresh. i rotate between him, sek'kuar, and darigaaz. i hadn't thought of juniper order ranger... mght try it out. all i know is if i'm playing green and i have room, i'm slipping in primus, emergence, and a sac outlet, probaly the three altars and spawning pit. maybe some darksteel things to make kresh or rangers huge. i might have t dedicate a deck to this combo just for fun. play as many green/x comb's i can. sekki, season's guide+pandemonium anyone? seem's like fun. i'll adjust my general accordingly.

Gargadon, Soul's Fire (for GG/ Ranger ), and Bombardment

Here's a rule question- If I make a 4/4 but have Anthem, will it trigger Emergance?

-Edit- it will... So, this in a GWR enchantress could be fun, budget, and not hated
