So I'm putting together an ambitious project/adventure. A sort of "campaign" style of MtG based on The Weatherlight Saga storyline which stretches from Weatherlight to Apocolypse.
I will most likely need much help along the way, but I think it will be fun to possibly have something really awesome for the community to play thru at the end. This will be an interesting challenge for both deck builders and game designers.
The decks will change as the storyline goes on and more events happen to our heroes and villains and they grow in experience and power(access to the cards of the next expansion). For the game designers out there the challenge is to design play scenarios that fit the story, the gameplay of EDH, while adding uniqueness of the "adventure" format. Alot of the specifics of the Adventure variation of the format are currently nebulous, with the prime point being that players are pitted against a scenario that they must overcome with their chosen character from that scenario and that character's deck. The other being that the EDH format seems like it may be the best starting point that would need the least amount of modifications for balancing. Everything else is currently up for some creative minds to work out!
This project is open to anyone who wants to help, and especially those who want to play and test! Feel free to start responding with ideas, thoughts, format suggestions/tweaks, flaming criticism, semiuseful trolling, whatever comes to mind
The first thing that I've started working on is beginning to sketch out the ideas for the protagonist decks.
Here's the cast of heroes that we'll see during the adventure:(thanks to MTGS Wiki for an easy listing) Gerrard Capashen, Commander Sisay, Captain Hanna, Navigator Tahngarth, first mate Orim, healer Ertai, wizard Karn, engineer Mirri, deck hand/soldier Crovax Windgrace, deck hand/soldier Rofellos, soldier Starke il-Vec, deck hand/guide Squee, cabin boy Multani, Maro-Sorcerer Jhoira, orginal captain
The "general\character" version when we first meet them:

Aside from Crovax, Ascendant Hero, there's Crovax the Cursed and Ascendant Evincar, who is essentially Crovax as well. So you have options there. Or are you starting with the white Crovax because he is Crovax in non-vampire form?
Are you looking for deck ideas for each of these guys? That are supposed to be flavorful?

I think the task is more like following the storyline of the Weatherlight, which means that the up-and-comming deck won't be the same for the months comming, reflecting the progression in the story-line.
While I do like the idea for being very flavourful, this is quite a difficult project under EDH rules, as there is no General containing all necessary colors fitting this theme. So from the beginning this will be a bit 'corrupted' if one can say so.

I actually think he wants one deck for each character, each one being his or her own general.

Oh, indeed. I misread his post the first time.
Now, building a deck for each of the characters sounds kind of epic. However, I like the idea and I am digging flavourful decks, so count me in for some ideas here and there.

Hooray! I found some people to help
Right now Im working on turning the following backstory into a scenario:
Gerrard was born into the Benalish Clan Capashen, but his family was murdered by Phyrexian raiders when he was just a little boy. The silver golem Karn, part of the Legacy himself and given to Clan Capashen by Urza to protect that bloodline, took the little boy to an ally of Urza, the Jamuraan warlord Sidar Kondo, who adopted the boy.
Ideas for scenario objectives? Perhaps a race against the clock? A race to Kondo's tribe? A search for Gerrad? Ideas for a Karn deck that doesn't include post weatherlight cards yet(Karn hasn't learned those spells yet or met those allies)?

How about a Two-Headed Giant game, Karn & Gerrard (with lots of Benalish cards) against two "Phyrexian" decks (Commander Greven Il-Vec and Vhati il-Dal come to mind)?
For Karn's deck, perhaps you could also consider using cards from Urza Block, since its storyline happens before the Weatherlight's story begins.

Karn's deck can use cards from every set up until his finding of Gerrad (we'll call it Weatherlight since 4179-83 is hard to pin down in set years). Since Karn has quite a few decades of experience a regular 99 card EDH deck should be good for him, while Gerrad's deck should probably be much smaller since he is only a few years old during this escape. 61? 50?
The two antagonist decks should be normal sized. Should they have a focus on creatures, assassination, murder flavor/card based on the mission?
