This is the updated list, its evolved into a much stronger deck since i started playing it.

the general theme of the deck is to gain overwhelming board advantage, whether it be through drawing a bunch of cards, filling the yard with dudes and reanimating them, or solid beatdown with good ol' Thraximundar.

i finally got my big order from SCG, so i'm pretty content with this deck. now all i have to do is wait patiently for new sets to be released. i fulfilled my primary goal of having a very strong deck that i always have fun playing with. always open for comments and suggestions :]

My suggestions for consideration:

Chainer's Edit, Pox, Small Pox, the new demon in m10 (Xanthid?), triskelavus, abyssal gatekeeper, sedris the traitor king, terramorphic expanse (good with crucible), infernal tribute (the best sac outlet; excellent with evoke elementals), more black card draw (necropotence, phyrexian arena)

Try maybe Predator Dragon, or one of the other devour creatures.

There was this Ravinica red 2cc instant, can't remember the name, it has you sac a guy to deal 5 dmg to another guy. Worth looking into.

If only this had green I'd say Mycoloth :(

My vote for fun creature in Thraximundar decks is Deathbringer Thoctar. He's basically Thraxi's little brother, and has the added bonus of being able to ping stuff.

But that's just me. I'm a pretty laid-back player, so my suggestions aren't exactly the most optimal.

so this is the final list i've come up with before i hunt down cards to build this deck, any thoughts would be appreciated. sorry if the list is hard to read.

the general theme of the deck is to play small dudes and things that will force players to sacrifice creatures, i want thraxi to get the most out of his ability. it has light recursion, light on card draw, critters shouldn't stay alive for long.

<snip'd decklist>

any words of advice?

A few points that you need to consider;
UBR is great as long as you have the lands you need, when you need them. Add some more artifact fetch: Armillary Sphere, Wayfarers Bauble, or at least Journeyers Kite.
Two, the Evoke crits are great but they are also sorcery speed, so if you need to deal with an artifact at instant speed Chewer isn't gonna do it. Maybe a little redundancy on the Arti/Enchant hate? Or play Vedalken Orrery so you can flash them out.
You have no way to completely sweep the board. I know it's a personal preference but I like to have at least one or two outs to something like Solitary Confinement or another soft lock. Oblivion Stone. I am never unhappy to draw it.
And I didn't see this combo - Squee + Chamber of Manipulation + Any of the following:
Alter of Dementia, Spawning Pit, Phyrexian Vault or Helm of Possession

Otherwise I think it looks interesting. I wouldn't expect your opponents to keep any of their crits out for too long. :)

first off, thanks for the help.

@killingEdge: deathbringer thoctar should've been on the list for things to consider.

@big jim: all of those are great suggestions, i'm not sure why i didn't put chainer's edict, infernal tribute, or phyrexian arena in there...

@thaze: fiery fall or something to that effect, and that is a good card to consider, i'll test it out.

@tempesteye: i can't believe i left out Nevy's disk! and the land search artifacts. and this is the first time i've seen the chamber of manipulation combo. i don't know why i'm not running squee... or aether vial for that matter. or skull clamp... wow i forgot a bunch.

also for a bit of saccy ability add in a defiler of souls, a lord of the pit and a breeding pit 2 creatures on your side every turn and +2/+2 to thraxi on each of your turns

I'm more a fan of being able to sac on demand, instead of waiting for an ability to trigger. I think LotP and such are a bit harder to play, no?

was only a suggestion but defiler of souls forces all other player to do the same so you also have their creatures at a disadvantage unless they runnung multi coloured creatures

i have the prince on their. it seems like a house. "pay 3 life or i get your dudes" and with gravepact i really 2 for 1 most of the time. i'm thinking about attrition.

When shards first came out, I built a type two gravepact grixis deck that regularly played turn 4 gravepact, turn 5 sac three guys for the prince. They lose 3 guys, they pay 9 life or I get a serious card advantage. The rest of the game I just dropped fleshbags, shriekmaws, and ultimatums.
